The Sanger Initiative has ever been on the front lines of insuring that political, economic, social, and civil equality prevails throughout human society. We believe that access to higher education for all and the emancipation of the individual from religious, legal, and sexual oppression, as well as the social liberation from narrow gender roles, is essential for the next great stage of progress in human identity development.
This ideal will be accomplished when the old primitive, inhumane psychology, born of misery, finally recedes into the past with the achievement of super-abundance and high levels of culture in which the last vestiges of religious compulsion and coercion will disappear. The Sanger Initiative holds that the archaic view of domestic existence is not only based on wrong conclusions drawn from false assumptions, but also frustrates ambition, stifles initiative, hampers personal growth, damages self-image, promotes and perpetuates inequality, and is a primary obstacle to the perfection of human nature. Triumph in this struggle against the power of tradition, bourgeois customs, and religious obscurantism, we believe, will clear the way for healthier and more harmonious relations between individuals and guarantee the physical and moral vitality of a free working people.
We at The Sanger Initiative deem that if these principles are energetically implemented a greater degree of social justice will inevitably occur, for a better, more equitable, and more humane world.
